Staff Appreciation

We love and appreciate our teachers!

Parent Council enjoyed hosting a special breakfast for Fern's finest as a small token of the parent body's gratitude for what they do day in and day out.

Thank you Fern teachers!

Fern Fun Fair - Thank You!

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Fun Fair on June 10th helping to raise Fern a record $10K!

The sun was shining, the music was blaring, and all the kids were smiling!

We extend our deepest gratitude to the volunteers who helped make this all happen. Without these Fern families, we never could have done it!

Jump Rope For Heart

We would like to say a big thank you to the school community for your involvement with 'Jump Rope for Heart'!

Fern Avenue has raised a total of $5,819.55! This far exceeds our goal of $5,000.00 for this year! Every dollar brings us closer to winning the fight against heart disease and stroke, and we truly appreciate your support.

Also of great importance is that our students actively participated in a school wide fun day of jump rope, became more aware of the importance of exercise for a healthy heart, and helped others in need.

Grade 8 Montreal Trip

Dear Grade 8 Parents,

Our Montreal Trip bus is leaving at 7:15 a.m. this Wednesday.

Students should meet at 7:00 a.m. inside the school auditorium.

Please leave enough space on Wright Avenue for both buses to park, especially on Friday when we come back.

We had a full period assembly with the students last week going over the trip and answering any questions. Students are encouraged to pack their lunch for the first day, and to dress appropriately for the weather. They will need to bring some money for the second and third day lunch.

We will post our Estimated Time of Arrival ( ETA) on Friday around 3:00 p.m.

For further questions please e-mail bogdan.nikolajevic@tdsb.on.ca directly.  You can also find out more information on https://www.brightsparktravel.ca/

regards,
Bogdan Nikolajevic

Track and Field City Finals

Congratulations to the entire Fern Avenue P.S. track and field team that participated at the city Finals.

Our athletes performed amazingly well in the highest level of competition for track and field in the city, and showed great team spirit while cheering and supporting each other! Eight of our athletes placed top ten, which is a great achievement considering the level of athletic performances.

Our top athletic results at the finals meet from our school were with Lucas Teixeira that got 3rd place for 800meters, Princess Saladino that came 4th in running long jump, and Sophie Rashid-Cocker that came 4th in the 1500 meters.

Thanks to everyone on our track and field team, athletes and coaches, that proudly represented Fern Avenue P.S. at the city finals.
