On March 8th the students of room 104 Lower, 108, 215, 202 and 201 will be showcasing their talents in "Stories That Move."   The concert will start at 6  PM  and will run for approximately 45 minutes.

In June 2016, the Board approved the following motion regarding Pathways in the Alternative School System - please read more below. A review is underway and the following public consultation meetings have been scheduled: Thursday, March 23 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm @ former Eastern Commerce CI, 16 Phin Ave (Library) Tuesday, March 28 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm @ Western Technical Commercial School, 125 Evelyn Cres (Library)

Graduation Re-Takes will take place on Monday, March 06, 2017 beginning at 1 PM. Please note the photographer will require a note indicating that you were not happy with the first photo taken and  you wish a second photo. Three of Fern's awesome teachers, Mme Kertesz, Mme Couture and Mr Sy, are organizing a video dance party that will celebrate french-language music and give you and your children a change to show off your dance moves. Fern's Free The Children are Baking for Change this Valentines Day. Heart Shape cookies will be sold for $1 each at lunch and during the Senior dance on February 14th . FTC is only $2,000 away from their $10,000 goal to build a schoolhouse in Kenya.  Help us reach our goal!

Dear Parents/Guardians,   Between January 27 and Feb2, 2017, grade 8FI and Gr7/8FI participated in an online Math contest for elementary students across GTA. 30 classes participated. We are very happy to announce that our two classes placed 2 nd and 3 rd . There were 653 students who participated in the contest. 15 of our students placed on the top 50. Wow! This past fall, the ECO team decided to look at how a Boomerang Lunch program could help our school. We had a huge garbage issue that needed to be addressed immediately. We had big hopes for the project here at Fern and as of January 2017, we have now implemented the program in our lunchroom/cafeteria. So far we have seen a big change throughout this process and its only been 4 weeks!! More information can be found here . Thank you! The ECO Team

As a part of a partnership between the Toronto District School Board and Renewed Computer Technology (RCT), qualified families with children enrolled at our school have the opportunity to purchase quality refurbished computers at a reduced cost. Desktop computers are available for $71 and laptop computers are available for $161 including software, a two-year hardware and labour depot warranty and delivery to the school.
